Dover Police Obtain Warrants for Suspect in August 27th Kirkwood Street Shooting 12-17-14

Update:
Dover Police have obtained warrants for Thomas C. Harris (22), of Hartly, for the August 27th shooting of another man.  Dover Police developed Harris as a result of their investigative efforts.  Harris is currently wanted for Assault 2nd Degree, Possession of a Deadly Weapon During Commission of a Felony, and Possession of a Firearm by Person Prohibited (previous felony conviction). Location: Area of Kirkwood Street and Division Street, Dover, DE

Narrative:
Dover police are on the scene of a shooting in the area of Kirkwood and Division Streets that occurred at approximately 10:08 this morning.  A male victim suffered a gunshot wound to his foot and is being treated at a local hospital.  The suspect was described as a dark-skinned black male, last seen wearing blue jeans, a 2-tone brown sweatshirt, and has a light mustache.  The suspect was last seen running northbound from the scene.  Dover Officers along with officers from the Delaware State Police K9 and Aviation Units are on scene checking the area for the suspect.  Wesley College and area Dover schools made the decision to place their campuses on lock-down as a precautionary measure after police informed them of the situation and made the suggestion to do so.  The department will issue a release providing further details as they develop.  Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Dover Police Department at 302-736-7111 or  call the Delaware Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 1-800-Tip-3333 or go online at www.tipsubmit.com.
