Officer Releasing Information: M/Cpl. Mark Hoffman, Public Information Officer
The Dover Police Department arrested three men after committing robberies on Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning. In the first incident 53-year-old man was robbed at approximately 10:45PM on Tuesday night. The male victim was walking in the 600 Block of Ridgely Street toward Forrest Avenue when a light-colored vehicle arrived and two suspects exited. The suspects displayed handguns and demanded money from the victim. The victim dropped his cell phone, which the suspects picked up, and fled west on Forrest Avenue.
In the second incident, officers responded to the area of S. Bradford Street and Loockerman Street at approximately 1:32AM for a report of an armed robbery. Officers contacted a 26-year-old female who advised that she was approached by two black male suspects and one displayed a handgun while the second demanded money. The victim refused to comply and the suspects fled in a silver Dodge Charger with a black license plate. Patrol officers that were checking the area and located a vehicle matching that description and attempted to make contact with the occupants at the Dover Inn (428 N. DuPont Highway). Kaliph Miller (18) and an unknown suspect fled on foot from the vehicle. Miller was arrested a short time later, however the other unidentified suspect remains at large.
Two additional suspects, Samuel Horton (18) and Douglas Moon (20) remained with the vehicle and were taken into custody without incident. Officers then located a .22 caliber handgun and 9mm handgun (both loaded) inside the suspects vehicle, in plain view. Officers also located a loaded .40 caliber handgun along the path that Kaliph Miller took when he initially fled from officers.
Note: An earlier release was published in reference to the Ridgely Street robbery by error.
