Narrative:

The Dover Police Department has issued a Gold Alert for a missing 16-year-old.  Victoria Renda was reported missing on Friday, January 8th.  Her father attempted to pick her up from Dover High School during final classes for the day, but she had left prior to the final period.  She was last seen wearing a blue Hollister jacket, blue Nike shirt, and blue jeans with holes in them.  Renda has a condition that may present health or safety concerns if not properly treated/maintained.    If you have any information on Johnson’s whereabouts, please contact the Dover Police Department at 302-736-7111.

Two Arrested on Drug Charges on S. Governors Avenue 2-8-2019

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department arrested two suspects on drug charges during a search warrant on Thursday morning.  Officers executed the warrant at a residence in the 100 Block of S. Governors Avenue and took Mark Matthews (49) and Dominique Hampton (21) into custody without incident.  Officers located 5.4 grams of crack cocaine, 4.3 grams of marijuana, digital scales, and $2,596 in drug proceeds.  

Mark Matthews was committed to SCI after receiving a $16,500 bond on the following charges:
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Crack Cocaine
-Possession of Crack Cocaine
-Conspiracy 2nd Degree
-Drug Paraphernalia
-Possession of Marijuana (Civil)
-Resisting Arrest

Dominique Hampton was released on a $15,500 unsecured bond on the following charges:
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Crack Cocaine
-Possession of Crack Cocaine

Two Arrested for Burglarizing Vacant Home 2-8-2019

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department arrested two juveniles on burglary charges on Thursday morning.  Officers responded to a vacant home in the 300 Block of Blue Coat Street on February 6th, 2019 for a burglary that occurred at the home where the basement window was broken and approximately $4,000 in damage was done to the inside of the residence.  The builder replaced the window and went back on February 7th to check the residence when he saw Jason Cruz (16) and Jermaine Walker (16) inside the residence.  They fled the area and were contacted by Dover Police officers that were responding.  Both suspects fled on foot from the officers, but were quickly apprehended without further incident.

Both juvenile suspects were issued a $15,000 secured bond on the following charges:
-Burglary 2nd Degree
-Conspiracy 2nd Degree
-Criminal Mischief

Residential Burglary on Janes Road 2-7-2019

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is investigating a residential burglary that occurred in the 1100 Block of Janes Road.  The incident occurred between 4:00PM, Tuesday, February 5th, and 9:00PM on Wednesday, February 6th.  During that time and unknown suspect(s) entered the residence by damaging a rear window to the home.  Once inside, the suspects removed miscellaneous jewelry and prescription medication.

Arrest Made in “LetGo” Robbery at Hamlet Shopping Center 2-7-2019

UPDATE:

The Dover Police Department has charged Gordon Powell (16) with 1st Degree Robbery and Possession of a Firearm During Commission of a Felony in connection with the “LetGo” robbery that occurred in the parking lot of The Hamlet shopping center (see original release below).  Powell turned himself in to police on February 6th, 2019.  Powell was released on a $30,000 unsecured bond into the custody of his parent/guardian.

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred in the parking lot of the Hamlet Shopping Center on Walker Road that occurred at approximately 7:16PM on Sunday evening.  A male and female victim agreed to meet a “buyer” of a cell phone from the “LetGo” mobile app in the parking lot.  Upon arrival, a black male exited a blue or purple Honda CR-V and entered the back seat of the victim’s vehicle.  The suspect (described as a black male in his mid-20’s, tall with a slim build) displayed a handgun and demanded their belongings.  The suspect then fled with two cell phones and entered the Dollar General in the shopping center, fleeing shortly after.

Four Arrested on Drug Charges 2-6-2019

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department and Delaware Probation and Parole arrested four suspects on drug charges, following a search warrant of a motel room.  On Tuesday, December 5th, officers executed the warrant at the Kent Budget Motel located at 383 N. DuPont Highway following a traffic stop.  

During the stop, officers discovered that Keith Landry (47) was in possession of a .22 caliber gun.  Andre Wright (60) was in possession of 3.4 grams of marijuana.  Warren Coverdale (44) was in possession of 16 bags of heroin.  

Following the stop and arrest of those suspects, officers executed the search warrant and located 2.3 grams of MDMA (Ecstasy) and drug paraphernalia.  Vernell Taylor (23) was also arrested.  Two children were also located inside the room and turned over to another family member.

Keith Landry was committed to SCi on a $42,100 bond on the following offenses:
-Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited
-Possession of Ammunition by Person Prohibited
-Possession with Intent to Deliver MDMA
-Conspiracy 2nd Degree
-Endangering Welfare of a Child (2x)
-Drug Paraphernalia

Vernell Taylor was released on an O.R. bond on the following offenses:
-Possession with Intent to Deliver MDMA
-Conspiracy 2nd Degree
-Endangering Welfare of a Child (2x)
-Drug Paraphernalia

Warren Coverdale was released on a $700 unsecured bond on the following offenses:
-Possession of Heroin
-Drug Paraphernalia
-Local Fugitive
