When And Where to Submit Applications
For the position of Police Officer the Dover Police Department will always accept applications. Although the department only runs testing occasionally to create eligibility lists, you can submit your application to our Training Unit at any time, and it will be kept on file until its eligibility expires.

The Dover Police Department is accepting applications for a fall 2020 hiring process on August 28th, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. All applications received after August 28th, 2020 will be saved for the 2021 process which typically begins in April. Applicant testing for the fall 2020 hiring process is tentatively scheduled for September 12th-13th, 2020 with the time and location to be included in a letter sent to all applicants.
