Narrative:
The Dover Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit is investigating an armed robbery that occurred at the Super Lodge located at 246 North DuPont Highway. The incident occurred at approximately 12:30AM when a male suspect followed the clerk (79-year-old male victim) into the hotel office. The suspect produced a knife and demanded money from the clerk. The clerk then grabbed the knife and struggled with the suspect. The suspect then strangled the clerk until he turned over an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect then fled from the hotel and across US Route 13 where a witness observed the suspect get on a bike that was in the parking lot of the Windswept Copy/Print business and flee northbound. The suspect was described as being 6’1″ and approximately 200 pounds, possibly wearing orange gloves, white shirt (covering part of his face), and grey pants.
