PAY A FINE
Fines for Dover City Ordinance violations are paid at the police department. We accept payments in the following methods:
- Pay by Mail
Mail in your fine in the envelope provided with summons. Please do not mail cash! Incorrect payment amounts will be returned. - Pay in Person
Our Records Unit is open Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm. You may appear in person to pay your fine and obtain a receipt during these hours. For your convenience, we have a secure drop box in our lobby for after-hours payments. When using the drop box, please refer to the instructions posted for proper credit to your account.
- Pay by Phone
For your convenience, you may pay your fine by phone using Visa or MasterCard. Contact the Records Unit during business hours (Mon-Fri, 8:00AM-4:00PM) at 302-736-7105. - Pay Online
You can now pay City Ordinance violations online. These are typically issued for parking violations, false alarms, and other minor infractions. You cannot pay criminal fines or state traffic offenses on this site. To pay your find online, please click: PAY A FINE ONLINE
The Dover Police Department does not accept payments for:
Uniform Traffic Complaint/Summons
Red Light Camera violations

Collection Policy
To pay additional charges equal to the cost of collection including agency fees, attorney’s fees, and court costs if this or any other account held with the City is placed in the hands of any agency or attorney for collection or legal action because of default in payment of any amount due. The City may report information regarding payment history and account status to credit bureaus, any other purpose deemed necessary to provide and seek payment of services.
