Man Wanted for Attempted Murder in New York Arrested in Dover 4-30-2020

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department and U.S. Marshals’ First State Fugitive Task Force arrested a man wanted for Attempted Murder and related charges out of Staten Island on Wednesday afternoon.  Officers learned that Sean Whitted (39) was staying in a home in the 300 Block of Northdown Drive.  On Wednesday, April 29th, Whitted was taken into custody at the home without incident at approximately 12:55PM.

Whitted was committed to SCI pending extradition to New York.

Suspect Arrested in La Delicia Burglary 4-21-2020

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department arrested a Dover man for a burglary that occurred at La Delicia Restaurant on Sunday night.  Officers responded to the business on Monday afternoon when they received a call that an incident had occurred there overnight.  Surveillance video showed a white male wearing a coat and a button up shirt break into the business by shattering a glass door to the business and proceeding to take several items from inside.  Detectives canvassed the downtown area and located Brian Bower (34) wearing the same clothes and with fresh cuts to his hands from the burglary.  Bower was committed to SCI in default of a $2,100 secured bond on the following offenses:
-Burglary 3rd Degree
-Theft Over $1,500
-Criminal Mischief

Burglary at La Hacienda. 4-20-2020

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred at La Hacienda on Monday, April 20th.  At approximately 4:46AM, officers responded to the restaurant for a burglary alarm and discovered a broken front window.  After checking the business, the owner arrived on scene and reviewed surveillance footage.  The footage showed an unknown suspect, wearing all black, break the window and enter the business.  The suspect took a laptop computer and searched for additional items of value without success before fleeing.

Parking Violation Leads to Drug Arrests 4-13-2020

Narrative: 

Two men were arrested on drug charges as the result of a parking violation on Monday morning.  Officers contacted Ronald Maddray (25) and William Peterson (37) inside a vehicle that was parked in a fire lane at 1:11AM. Upon contact, officers could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.  A search of the vehicle was conducted and  it was found that Maddray was in possession of 21.3 grams of crack cocaine, 8.3 grams marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and $364 in cash.  Peterson was in possession of 7.5 grams of marijuana and $507 in cash.

Maddray was released on an unsecured bond on the following charges:
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Crack Cocaine
-Possession of Crack Cocaine
-Possession of Marijuana
-Drug Paraphernalia

Peterson was released on an unsecured bond on the following charges:
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana

Home Damage by Gunfire at Barrister Place 4-9-20

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting of a residence in the 400 Block of Barrister Place that occurred on Thursday morning.  At approximately 4:07AM, officers responded to the location for a report of shots fired.  When they arrived, it was learned that the home was struck three times by gunfire.  Two adults and one child who were inside the home at the time were not injured.
