Two Subjects Arrested for Drugs and Weapon 11-26-2013

Location:  27 North New Street, Dover, DE

Narrative: On Tuesday, November 26th at 11:01 AM, Dover Police Safe Streets Officers contacted a group of subjects loitering in the area of 27 North New Street.  Officers detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the individuals clothing and attempted to detain them at that time.  Defendant James Parker, began struggling with officers and pulled a loaded .32 Smith and Wesson revolver from under his jacket and attempted to discard it during the struggle.  Parker was also found to be in possession of 4.2 grams of marijuana and one 10mg Oxycodone tablet.  Defendant Dashaun Hughes, who was with Parker, was found to be in possession of 24 individual bags of marijuana, packaged for sale, with a total weight of 19 grams.  Both defendants were committed to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in default of bond.

Armed Robbery Sunoco Gas Station 11-22-2013

Incident #: 50-13-32264     Date/Time: Friday, November 22, 2013, 4:00AM

Location:  Sunoco Convenience Store (837 N. Dupont Highway-Dover Mall)

Narrative:     The Dover Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit is investigating an early morning armed robbery of the Sunoco Gas Station/Convenience Store located at 837 North Dupont Highway.  The victim/clerk advised that at approximately 4:00AM, a black male suspect entered the store wearing a black hooded sweatshirt concealing his face, dark blue jeans, and black gloves and pointed a gun at the clerk, demanding money.  The suspect then fled the store with an undisclosed amount of currency and ran northbound and fled the area in an unknown vehicle.

Milton Miller’s last known address was 138 North Queen Street, Dover, DE and last verified on May 30, 2013.  On November 22, 2013, while officers were conducting re-verifications, Miller was not at the registered address.  Further investigation revealed that Miller moved from the residence in October of 2013.  Miller is a registered Tier 2 Sex Offender. and currently has warrants on file for Failure to Re-register.

Richard Ricks recently registered his address as 722 North Bradford Street, Dover, DE.  On November 22, 2013, the Dover Police Sex offender Unit attempted to verify the address of Ricks and found that the address Ricks used does not exist.  Warrants are currently on file for Ricks, who has numerous other Failure to Re-register charges.

On Sunday, November 24, 2013 at approximately 11:30p.m., two unknown black male suspects attempted to take food that was ordered to a vacant residence by producing what appeared to be a handgun.  The suspects fled without any food when the delivery man fled.

Narrative:

On Saturday, November 23, 2013 at approximately 8:27 p.m., an unknown suspect forced entry into the front door of the elderly victim’s residence causing damage.  Once inside the suspect attacked the victim causing non-life threatening injuries and fled with the victim’s purse.

Arrest Made in the Acme Purse Snatching Incident

Narrative:

On Saturday, November 23, 2013 at approximately 11:14 a.m., the victim was in the parking lot of Acme preparing to get into her vehicle.  The suspect approached her and forcibly grabbed her purse stealing same from her.  The suspect got into a blue Saturn vehicle and a witness was able to obtain the vehicle registration and pass it on to the police.  Patrol officers checked the area and located the vehicle on Denney’s Road and performed a vehicle stop arresting the suspect John Scott without incident.  Detectives were also able to link the suspect John Scott to the crime after recovering the stolen merchandise from the robbery on his person.  Detectives also linked suspect Scott to the incident which occurred on November 15, 2013 a purse snatching case 50-13-31577.

DART Bus Station Robbery 11-22-2013

Narrative:

On Friday, November 22, 2013 at approximately 1:37 p.m., Defendants Phillip Washington and Quiton Henry approached the victim at the DART bus station located at West Water Street and South Queen Street and demanded money from him while implying that they had a gun.  The defendants snatched the victim’s wallet from his hands and broke his chain attaching it to his pants.  The victim’s wallet contained $10.00 and personal identifying articles.  The defendants were apprehended a short distance away at the rear of Courtney Square Center and were found to be in possession of the victim’s wallet and money.  All items were returned to the victim.
