Narrative:

On Saturday October 14, 2013 the victim of this incident reported that his vehicle was removed from his residence by a known acquaintance, James T. Young Jr., without his permission.  On the same day at approximately 1:20 pm the victim notified the Dover Police Department that he saw Young driving his vehicle in the area of the west of Silver Lake and attempted to stop him resulting in Young striking him with the car and fleeing.  Officers from the Dover Police Department responded to the area and immediately found Young in the victim’s vehicle on North Queen St at Cecil St and attempted to stop him.  Young refused to stop and fled from officers resulting in a brief car pursuit that ended when Young failed to yield at the intersection of Lakewood Place and Walker Rd and struck a car traveling through that intersection.  Both vehicles involved in the collision rolled over resulting in injuries to both Young and the two occupants (Male 63, Female 57) of the other vehicle.

After the collision Young was taken into custody by officers of the Dover Police Department without further incident.  When taken into custody Young was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and was under the influence of drugs/alcohol.  The other victim’s involved in the accident and Young were transported to Kent General Hospital and were treated and released.

Narrative:

On Monday December 14, 2013 Dover Police responded to a complaint of a burglary at Universal Liquors and Integrity PC, located in McKee Crossing, 1005 College Rd, Dover.  The investigation revealed that at approximately 5:30 am, an unknown black male suspect forced his way through the front door of Integrity PC, realizing that it was not Universal Liquors, the business he was trying to burglarize he immediately left.  The suspect then went to Universal Liquors, forced his way through the front window of the business and once inside removed 3 bottles of liquor and an undisclosed amount of money then fled the store through the same window he entered and ran in a westbound direction.  The investigation is still ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Dover Police Department at (302)736-7111.  Callers may remain anonymous.  Tips can also be submitted to law enforcement through tip lines maintained by Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333 or on-line at www.tipsubmit.com.
