Dover Police Seek Identity Theft Suspect 2-28-14

Narrative:
The Dover Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit is currently investigating a case where an unknown suspect has been using an elderly victims credit card unlawfully.  At this time it is unknown how the victims credit card was stolen.  The suspect is a black male and may drive a silver Honda SUV as pictured below.  The card was used at the following locations:

  • Target (148 John Hunn Brown Road, Dover, DE)
  • Sbarro-Dover Mall (1365 North Dupont Highway, Dover, DE)
  • Chipotle (1141 North Dupont Highway, Dover, DE)
  • Staples (1041 North Dupont Highway, Dover, DE)

Dover Police Announces “How to Succeed” Seminar for Police Applicants

The Dover Police Department’s Planning and Training Unit will hold a “How to Succeed in the Hiring Process” seminar for police applicants in the 2014 testing cycle.  The seminar will take place on Friday, March 14th at 7:00PM in the Dover Police Department’s Public Assembly Room.  Applications will also be accepted at the seminar for those who have not submitted their application yet.  Applicants will learn the details of the applicant testing process, including details such as the physical test requirements, written exam, oral board interviews, and the background check process.  The seminar is NOT mandatory for applicants, but attendance is encouraged.  If there are nay questions, contact Sgt. Residential Burglary Country Club Apartments 2-17-2014

Incident #: 50-14-3917     Date/Time: Saturday, February 15, 2014 b/t 6:40-8:00pm

Location: Dover Country Club Apts. (11 Fairway Lakes Drive/D Building)

Narrative

The Dover Police Department is investigating a residential burglary that took place at Country Club Apartments, early Saturday evening (February 15th).  The burglary occurred between 6:40pm and 8:00pm, while the resident was not home.  The suspect(s) allegedly entered the apartment through an unsecured window and removed various personal items from within the apartment.  The victim advised that numerous electronic and household/personal items were stolen from the residence.    Anyone with any information should contact the Dover Police Department at 302-736-7111.  You may also submit an anonymous tip with Delaware Crime Stoppers by phone at: 1-800-847-3333 or online at:  http://delaware.crimestoppersweb.com.

Robbery on The Green

Victim: Male

Victim Age: 23

Narrative:

On Saturday, February 15, 2014 at approximately 12:30 a.m., the victim left a party at 40 The Green when he was approached by several unknown black male suspects.  The victim stated that one of the suspects charged him then the other suspects joined in the attack.  The victim stated he was assaulted numerous times and during the attack one of the suspects removed a necklace and attempted to take other jewelry.  The victim stated that a friend attempted to assist him but the suspects began attacking him also.

Suspect Description/Information:

Several unknown black males.  One suspect was described as being 6’1” – 6’2” tall, dark complexion with short dreads, jeans and a dark colored jacket.

Robbery at Dot Discount Store

720 Townsend Blvd, Dover, Delaware

Victim: Male

Victim Age: 37

Narrative:

On Thursday, February 13, 2014 at approximately 9:17 p.m., the suspect entered the store with a mask covering his face armed with a handgun.  The suspect demanded money from the store clerk.  The store clerk fled to the back room.  The suspect then walked behind the counter and pushed a female customer to the ground.  The suspect took cash from the register and fled the store on foot in an unknown direction

Black male, approximately 26 yoa, mask on face, thin build, blue sneakers, black jacket, dark blue jeans and facial hair around mask
