Arrest Made in White Oak Park Robbery 5-12-2014

Update:   On Saturday 5-10-14 suspect Robert T. Hawkes was arrested for the armed robbery in White Oak Park after turning himself in at the Wilmington Police Department. Hawkes was arraigned at JP#7 and committed to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in default of $41,000.00 secured bond.

Location:  White Oak Park, 1210 White Oak Road, Dover, DE

Narrative:
The Dover Police Department is investigating an afternoon robbery of a man in the White Oak Park, located at 1210 White Oak Road.  At approximately 3:10 PM the victim met with Suspect-Robert Hawkes (23) in White Oak park to sell an XBOX item for $250.00.  When the victim arrived, he was approached by Hawkes and another male subject.  The unknown suspect pointed a handgun while Hawkes went through the victim’s pockets, stealing cash (undisclosed amount), a cell phone, and other personal items.  The unknown male suspect is described as a dark skinned black male, 5’6″-5’8″ and 180-195 pounds.  Robert Hawkes currently has a warrant for his arrest.  The charges are shown in the below photo of Hawkes.

Purse Snatching on Webbs Lane 5-12-2014

Incident #: 50-14-11777       Date/Time: Sunday May 11, 2014  6:50PM

Location: 400 Block of Webbs Lane Dover, DE

Narrative:
The Dover Police Department is investigating an early evening purse snatching that occurred in the 400 block of Webbs Lane on Sunday, May 11th.  At approximately 6:50PM, a 44 year old female victim was walking in the area of the 400 Block of Webbs lane, when an unknown black male suspect grabbed the victims purse.  The force used by the suspect, caused the bag to tear and the victims wallet to fall to the ground.  The suspect then picked up the wallet and fled east on Webbs Lane.  The suspect is described as a black male, 6’0″, 140-150 pounds, with a bright orange t-shirt and dark shorts.  The suspect was also accompanied by an unknown black male who was waiting for the suspect, east of the robbery location.  There was no injury to the victim.
