Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested After Tip Submitted From Facebook Post

Within hours of the Dover Police Department releasing new images from the Dover Federal Credit Union Bank Robbery, a tip was received that has led to the arrest of a Maryland man for the robbery.  An anonymous tip was received on Tuesday evening from a person who recognized the suspect from the Dover Police Facebook page as a recent visitor to the Dover Downs Hotel and Casino  Further investigation revealed Lloyd Morrison Jr. (47) from New Carrollton, MD was identified as the suspect in the May 16th robbery.  Officers from the Dover Police Department were able to locate Morrison at the Dover Downs Hotel and Casino and took him into custody without incident shortly after 10am on Wednesday, June 18th.  Detectives also found Morrison’s vehicle (red Suburu Forrester) in the parking lot of Dover Downs.  During a search of the vehicle, detectives were able to find evidence from the robbery.  Morrison is charged with one count of Attempted Robbery 2nd Degree.  Bond information/booking photo were not available at the time of this release.

Location: Dover Federal Credit Union, 225 Saulsbury Road Dover, DE

Narrative:
The Dover Police Department is investigating a bank robbery that occurred on Friday afternoon.  Police responded to the Dover Federal Credit Union located at 225 Saulsbury Road, after a suspect robbed the location.  At approximately 2:05PM, the suspect entered the bank through the main lobby and entered the line for the bank tellers.  The black male suspect approached a teller and displayed a note demanding money from the teller.  The suspect then fled from the bank in a southeast direction, through the Blood Bank of Delaware parking lot.  The suspect then entered what appears to be a red in color SUV that was parked facing westbound on Clara Street, just east of the Blood Bank of Delaware building.  The vehicle then fled southbound on Saulsbury road.  No injuries were reported at the bank.  Images of the suspect are displayed below.  Anyone with any information is asked to call 302-736-7111.  Callers may remain anonymous. Location: Town Point Apartments, 820 Carvel Drive Dover, Delaware

Update: On Tuesday, June 17th, detectives from the Criminal Investigation Unit took Jermaine Scott (22) into custody for the Town Point Apartments robbery without incident.  He was charged with Robbery 1st Degree, Home Invasion, and Terroristic Threatening and committed on $29,100 bond after being arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 7.

Original Narrative:

On Monday June 16, 2014 at 1830 hours the unknown suspect followed the victim to his apartment. Suspect displayed an unknown type handgun and demanded money from the victim. Victim handed over an undisclosed amount of money and the suspect fled the area. Suspect is described as being a black male with a beard, heavyset, approximately 5’11” tall, Anyone with any information is asked to call 302-736-7111.  Callers may remain anonymous. Location: 820 Carvel Dr “B Building” Dover, Delaware

Update: Jermaine Scott (22) was also charged in the June 9th burglary of an elderly victims apartment.  Scott was charged with Burglary 2nd, theft under $1500.00 with victim over 62, and 5 counts of unlawful use of a credit card.  Scott was committed on $29,100 bond.

Between the above dates and times and unknown suspect entered the victims apartment through an unsecured window. Once inside the residence the suspect removed the victims purse from her bedroom, and cut the phone cord. Suspect fled the residence into an unknown direction.
