Dover Fraternal Order of Police Golf Tournament Raises Over $13,000 for Charity

The City of Dover Police Department Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 15 would like to thank all of the men and women who participated and sponsored this years golf tournament which was held on September 11, 2014 at Jonathan’s Landing Golf Course in Magnolia Delaware.  This years tournament raised over $13,000.  The proceeds from this years tournament will benefit gifts for hospitalized children during the Christmas season and the Officer in Distress Fund. In addition, one golfer hit a hole-in-one and won a motorcycle valued at $16,500 from Diamond Motorsports!

Man Arrested for Theft of Copper Wire 9-16-14

Incident #: 50-14-23469  Date/Time:  Between November 2012 and July 2014

Location: McKee Run Generating Station (Dover Power Plant) 880 Buttner Place, Dover, DE

Narrative:
Between November 2012 and July 2014 a significant amount of heavy duty high voltage cooper wire, approximately 1000′ was stolen from a warehouse on the property of McKee Run Generating Station (Dover Power Plant) which belongs to the City of Dover Electric Department. Investigation revealed that a current employee of North American Energy Services (NAES), who is contracted by the City of Dover for plant operations was a suspect. Michael W. Shane Sr. (46) of Clayton, DE had scrapped nearly 11,000 pounds of copper wiring (receiving $30,000.00) at the Dover Scrap Yard for the sale of the of the copper. Evidence was located at the defendant’s previous residence also linking him to the crime. Defendant Shane was processed and then arraigned at JP#7 and released on $5,000.00 unsecured bond.
