Shots Fired Complaint leads to arrest of Two Suspects

Location:        N. Kirkwood Street south of Mary Street,  Dover, DE

Narrative:

On Monday January 19th at 0035 hours the City of Dover Police Department received a complaint of shots fired on North Kirkwood Street just South of Mary Street in Dover. Responding police units quickly realized that shots were fired into an occupied vehicle where two females were seated. The two females were not injured. Two bullet holes were located in the driver’s side of the victims vehicle causing damage. Responding Units observed a vehicle leaving the scene in a hurry and attempted to stop it. The operator of the 2000 gold Lincoln failed to stop for police and a vehicle pursuit ensued. The suspect vehicle fled down Weston Dr. where the vehicle crashed into a large mulch pile. Both suspects fled from the vehicle and were apprehended a short distance away with the assistance of a police K-9.  The Defendants were found to be in possession of two handguns, four rounds of . 45 caliber ammunition, $1889.00 in united states currency, 39 bags of heroin and bullet proof  body armor. Defendant Thomas Gordon (27) and defendant Brandon McDonald (25) were arrested on a series of charges. The defendants were processed and then arraigned at JP#7. Defendant Gordon was committed to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in default of $ 119,008.00 cash bail. Defendant McDonald was also committed to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in default of $ 118,000.00 cash bail.

Commercial Burglary to Happy 13 Liquors

Incident #: 50-15-1428       Date/Time: Saturday, January 17th, 0450 hours

Location:        262 S. DuPont Hwy Dover, DE

Narrative:

On Saturday January 17, 2015 at 0450 hours and unknown suspect gained access to the roof of Happy 13 Liquors. Once the suspect was on the roof the suspect removed a 12″ x 12″ fan that was bolted to the roof. The suspect then tied an extension cord around an A/C unit and used the extension cord to lower himself inside the business. Once inside the business suspect pried open a cash register with a pry bar removing an undisclosed amount of cash, money orders, and checks. Suspect fled out the back door of the business with two cash registers into an unknown direction. Suspect is described as possibly a white male, approximately 5’7 to 5’8 inches tall. Anyone with information about this burglary is asked to contact the City of Dover Police Department Criminal Investigation Unit.
