The Dover Police Department responded to 12 shoplifting calls between Noon on February 5th and Noon on February 12th. Of those 12 shoplifting complaints, one was unfounded, five are still under investigation, and arrests were made/warrants obtained in 6 cases. A total of 5 adults and 1 juvenile were arrested or are wanted for shoplifting during this period.

Stolen Firearm and Drugs located During a Search of a Residence in Dover

Location: Unit block of Stevenson Drive (Manchester Square Development), Dover, DE
Narrative: On February 10, 2015 at 1:07 pm City of Dover Police Officers from the Operation Safe Streets Unit conducted an administrative search of a residence in the Unit Block of Stevenson Drive in Manchester Square Development in Dover, DE. As a result of the administrative search officers located a .25 caliber Colt semi-automatic handgun, 143 bags of heroin, and 9 ecstasy pills in the possession of defendant Jahmelle Taylor (22). The check on the .25 caliber handgun revealed the gun was stolen during a previous complaint investigated by the Delaware State Police Troop 4 jurisdiction. Defendant Keith Cubbage (37) was also arrested during the incident due to an active warrant and violation of probation. Defendant Jahmelle Taylor was arrested and then arraigned at JP#7. Defendant Taylor was committed to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in Smyrna in default of $104.500.00 cash bond. Defendant Keith Cubbage was arrested and arraigned at JP#7. Defendant Cubbage was committed to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in Default of $5,000.00 cash bond.
