Narrative:

The Dover Police Department has issued a Gold Alert in the case of a missing adult woman from Dover.  Catherine Talavera was last seen at her home, by her spouse, at 1:00PM on Monday, May 18th.  Talavera has a condition that may put her health and safety at risk.  She was last seen driving a silver Toyota Prius (DE REG: 137972).  If you have any information on her whereabouts, please contact the Dover Police Department at 302-736-7111.

Two Arrests Made in Walker Woods Murder 5-19-2015

UPDATE:

The Dover Police Department has arrested two men in connection with the Walker Woods homicide that occurred on Wednesday, May 13th.  Damier Harmon (18) and Bruce Manlove (19) were arrested in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by the Philadelphia Police Department for charges of 1st Degree Robbery relating to the incident.  Once arrested, detectives obtained further evidence leading to the Harmon being charged with 1st Degree Murder.  Both suspects are currently being held in Pennsylvania awaiting extradition to Delaware.

Damier Harmon faces the following charges upon extradition:
-1st Degree Murder
-1st Degree Robbery
-Possession of Deadly Weapon During Commission of a Felony
-Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited
-Possession of Ammunition by Person Prohibited
-Conspiracy 2nd Degree

Original Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating the homicide of a 19-year-old Smyrna man that occurred on Harmony Lane, in the Walker Woods development.  At approximately 8:54P, the Dover Police Department received a call reporting a sound of a gunshot and a male subject seen lying on the ground near the rear of the development.  Police arrived on scene and discovered 19-year-old Gary Adams had suffered a single gunshot wound and immediately began first aid efforts.  Adams was transported to the Bayhealth Kent General Hospital where he later died as a result of the injuries he suffered.  It was learned during the investigation that Adams was enrolled at Smyrna High School.  Smyrna High School administrators have been contacted and will have crisis counselors available to those who wish to utilize the service.  In addition, the Smyrna Police Department has been notified of this matter and has been in continuous contact with Smyrna school officials.

This is the cities fourth homicide in the 2015 calendar year.

 

Shooting In Dover East Estates 5-19-2015

Narrative:
The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in the Dover East Estates Mobile Home Development on Monday night.  At approximately 9:10PM, the 27 year old victim advised that he observed an unknown vehicle driving at a slow rate of speed past his home.  The victim stated that he saw the rear driver window roll down, and he began to flee.  The suspect fired approximately 4-5 shots, striking the victim in the left arm once.  The victim was transported to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital where he underwent surgery and is now in “stable condition.”  There is no suspect information available at this time, and the victims cooperation is minimal.
