Narrative:

The Dover Police Department has arrested a 28-year-old mother for Assault 2nd Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child after it was discovered that she whipped her 6-year-old daughter with an extension cord.  The injuries to the child were reported to Department of Services for Children, Youth, and their Families (DSCYF) by a family member of the child victim.  Dover Police arrested Nivia Brown, who advised detectives that she whipped the child for not listening to her.  Brown was released on unsecured bond after being arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 7.

Residential Burglary Investigation 7-31-15

Location:  Unit Block of North Governors Avenue, Dover, Delaware

Original Narrative:

The Dover Police Department responded to a home in the first block of North Governors Avenue for a residential burglary.  An early investigation determined that the incident occurred between 9:00AM and 3:30PM on Thursday, July 30th.  An unknown suspect(s) entered the residence through an unsecured window and stole a 46″ Emerson brand television.
