Dover Police and NAACP to Hold Community Outreach Event 10-2-15

The Dover Police Department in partnership with the Central Delaware branch of the NAACP, are excited to launch a series of community outreach initiatives in the downtown Dover area.  The event is scheduled for Thursday, October 8th, at 7:00PM (Weather Permitting). Dover Police Department will close down the first block of South New Street at Loockerman and Reed Streets and participate in a series of basketball games with area youth.  This event is expected to last 1-2 hours and serves as one of many ideas aimed at building both trust and a strong relationship with our downtown community/family.  In addition to basketball, officers will distribute coloring books, crayons, 7-11 coupons, and other giveaways (while supplies last).  This community event is the first of many between the community, local leaders, and the Dover Police Department. The Central Delaware Branch of the NAACP and Dover Police Department welcome all families to attend and cheer during the basketball games. Most importantly, we encourage everyone to come out and have fun while getting to know your local Dover police officers.
