Attempted Burglary at Delaware Auto Sales 10-16-15

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department has arrested Edward Thomas (22), after he attempted to burglarize a local business on Friday morning.  Police received a 911 call from someone who saw Thomas attempting to kick in the door to Delaware Auto Sales.  Upon arrival,  the suspect was found hiding inside his vehicle, a blue Chevrolet Venture mini-van.  Thomas refused to exit the van and comply with officers on scene and had to be physically removed and taken into custody.  Thomas damaged four other windows to the business and attempted to steal several tools from the garage of the business as well.  Thomas was charged with Attempted Burglary 3rd Degree, Criminal Mischief, and Resisting Arrest.  Bond information was not available at the time of the release.  Thomas does not have a mugshot on file at this time.

 

Weekly Shoplifting Notification 10/8/15-10/15/15

The Dover Police Department responded to 12 shoplifting calls between Noon on October 8th  and Noon on October 15th.  Of those 12 shoplifting complaints, six are still under investigation, one was unfounded, one store declined prosecution, and 4 arrests/warrants obtained were made in  4 cases.  One juvenile and 3 adult arrests were made.
