Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest of Man with Loaded Handgun and Heroin 11-17-15

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department Street Crimes Unit and Probation and Parole arrested a  man with a loaded handgun and heroin during a traffic stop on Monday morning.  At approximately 10:05 AM, officers observed Dahppy Brewah (20), operating a vehicle in the area of Whiteoak Road and Frear Drive.  A computer check revealed that Brewah had a revoked license and officers stopped him.  During the traffic stop, officers noticed a smell of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle.  During a vehicle search, officers located a loaded .40 caliber handgun and 20 bags of heroin (weighing .3 grams).  Based on the findings of the vehicle search, Probation and Parole (assisted by DPD), searched a residence in the 800 block of Carvel Drive, where Brewah resides.  That search yielded a box of .32 caliber ammunition.  Brewah is prohibited from possessing a firearm and ammunition based on his previous criminal convictions.

Brewah was committed to JTVCC on $55,000 secured bond on the following charges:
-Possession of Firearm/Ammunition by Person Prohbited (2x)
-Carry Concealed Deadly Weapon
-Possession With Intent to Deliver Controlled Substance (heroin)
-Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony
-Driving While Revoked
