Narrative:

12729111_10207120350704554_3289831689279216321_nThe Dover Police Department is currently working with the United States Air Force Office of Special Investigations (OSI) in the missing person’s case involving Senior Airman Keifer Huhman.  Huhman, of the 436thCommunications Squadron, did not report to duty on Monday, February 8th.  At that time, DAFB authorities initiated a missing person investigation.

It was learned that Huhman was last seen on February 7th, at approximately 6-6:30PM as he was leaving his home in Blue Hen Apartments, in Dover.  Huhman was operating a blue 1997 Ford Ranger with Florida tags.

On February 10th, the family of Keifer Huhman filed a missing person’s report with the Dover Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit.  Detectives from the Dover Police Department have since worked closely with DAFB authorities on this case.

The Dover Police Department, assisted by the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit, conducted an extensive aerial search throughout Kent County for the truck that Huhman was last seen in.  During the aerial search, detectives learned that the truck was towed by the Delaware State Police from the shoulder of the William V. Roth, Jr. Bridge which spans the C&D Canal, on Sunday night at approximately 10:00PM.

With this information, the Dover Police Department, with the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit, conducted an aerial search of the canal and surrounding areas.  The Delaware State Police and Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) have deployed their maritime units to search the area.  The Dover Police Department is also processing the truck for evidence.

Despite the discovery of the truck and its location, the Dover Police Department and DAFB Office of Special Investigations are continuing the investigation as a missing person’s case with assistance from the Delaware State Police and DNREC Police.

If you have any information on this case, we ask that you call the Dover Police Department at 302-736-7130 or your local law enforcement agency.
