Multiple Shots Fired on Kirkwood Street 3-23-16

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating a shots fired complaint that occurred on Tuesday night.  At approximately 9:21PM, a 17-year-old victim was walking on the Unit Block of North Kirkwood Street.  While walking, an unknown male suspect, wearing all black, began shooting at him from across the street.  The victim ran into his residence on North Kirkwood Street.  All of the rounds missed the victim, but struck three homes and a vehicle.  Several shell casings were found in the area where the suspect was shooting from.

One Suspect Arrested in Stabbing, Police Seek 2nd Suspect 3-22-16

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department arrested a 17-year-old and are seeking another juvenile in the evening stabbing of a man on the 100 Block of S. Bradford Street.  At approximately 7:20PM, Kyree Robinson (17) and another unknown juvenile attacked the male victim while he was sitting on a set of steps.  During the attack, the victim was stabbed in the chest, back, neck, and head.  The attack was stopped by police within seconds as two officers pulled onto S. Bradford Street for an unrelated disorderly person complaint.  The officers immediately took action and both suspects fled on foot.  Officers were able to apprehend Robinson a short distance away.  The victim was hospitalized overnight at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital for his injuries and he is expected to make a full recovery.

Robinson was committed to a juvenile detention center on $31,500 secured bond after being charged with the following offenses:
-Assault 2nd Degree
-Possession of a Deadly Weapon During Commission of Felony
-Conspiracy 2nd Degree
-Resisting Arrest

Burglary at Dover Liquor Mart 3-22-16

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating the burglary of Dover Liquor Mart at 1255 S. State Street.  On Tuesday morning at 2:26AM, a white male suspect used a hammer to break the front glass door to the business. Once inside, the suspect stole several bottles of liquor and took an undisclosed amount of cash.  The suspect then fled on foot with the cash and liquor.

74-Year-Old Woman Victim of Robbery 3-18-2016

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating a robbery of a 74-year-old woman that occurred on Thursday night.  At approximately 9:30PM, the victim was exiting her vehicle in front of her home in the 400 Block of Fiddlers Green when a white male suspect ran towards her and took her purse.  The Suspect then fled in a silver sedan that was parked across the street from her residence.  The purse contained an undisclosed amount of cash and other personal items.  The victim stated that the suspect was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and was 5’8″-5’10” and the vehicle had faded paint on the front driver side fender.

Man Arrested in Connection with Two Armed Robberies 3-18-2016

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department arrested a Kenneth Fisher (20), of Dover, in connection with two armed robberies in Dover.  Dover Police Detectives and officers from the US Marshal’s First State Fugitive Task Force arrested Fisher on Thursday afternoon in the are of New Castle Avenue in Dover.   The first incident was the robbery of a man at knife-point on February 17th at a Dover WAWA.  The second incident was the robbery of an 18-year-old victim at a WSFS ATM on March 6th.  Detectives were able to identify Fisher as a suspect and accomplice in the robberies by pursuing investigative leads and witness information.  Fisher was committed to JTVCC in default of $41,500 secured bond on the following charges:
-Robbery 1st Degree (2x)
-Possession of Deadly Weapon During Commission of Felony
-Conspiracy 2nd

Foot Chase Leads to Gun Arrest 3-17-16

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department arrested Kevon McKinney on weapons charges after he fled from officers on foot on Wednesday afternoon.  The Dover Police Department responded to Whatcoat Drive in response to a call received from a witness that observed McKinney get a handgun from behind a bush and sit in the driver seat of a nearby vehicle.  Officers quickly arrived and attempted to contact McKinney who fled southbound on foot with the handgun visible in his hand.  McKinney, who ran past a school bus letting children off, was pursued by officers into a wooded area behind the Dover Federal Credit Union on Saulsbury Road where he was taken into custody.  The handgun (loaded Beretta 9mm) was found in close proximity to where McKinney was arrested by officers.  McKinney was committed to JTVCC in default of $25,000 cash and $4,353 secured bond.  In addition to the below charges, McKinney also had an active warrant from Delaware State Police Troop 9, was on home confinement, and had a capias from Kent County Court of Common Pleas for a prior gun charge.
