Update:
The Dover Police Department has made two arrests in the June 8th carjacking incident at the Dover Mall Parking Lot. The arrests came after police were able to identify the suspects based on witness statements in the area where the vehicle was left behind. On June 14th, Delaware State Police Troop 7 arrested two of the suspects on unrelated charges. Benjamin Beyer (22) and Taylor Cox (21) were both charged with Carjacking 1st Degree and Conspiracy 2nd Degree. Beyer was committed to JTVCC and Cox to Baylor Women’s Correctional Center in default of $62,000 secured bond.

Narrative:
The Dover Police Department is investigating a carjacking that occurred on Wednesday afternoon. According the 18-year-old male victim, two white male suspects appraoched him in the parking lot of Dick’s Sporting Goods at the Dover Mall at 3:30PM. The suspects were carrying a pipe and wooden baton and ordered the victim back into his vehicle. The two male suspects entered the vehicle and a white female suspect also entered the back seat. The rear male passenger told the victim that he had a gun and ordered him to drive away. The victim drove southbound, taking multiple back roads to the Milford area, where the victim was ordered out of the vehicle on West Woodside Drive. The victim then ran to a nearby residence and called 911. The victim’s vehicle was located a short distance away by responding Milford and Delaware State Police officers. The victim advised that the suspects also stole his cell phone, an undislosed amount of cash, and his drivers license.
