Arrest Made in Daycare Burglary and Robbery of Taxi Driver 8-18-16

UPDATE:
The Dover Police Department has charged Donald Caldwell with the robbery of a City Cab driver on Tuesday morning.  Caldwell turned himself in to the Dover Police Department on Wednesday afternoon after he was determined to be the suspect in the burglary of a local daycare.  Caldwell was developed as a suspect in the taxi cab robbery as well, and confessed to the incident to detectives.  Caldwell was committed to JTVCC in default of $50,000 cash bond on the following offenses from both cases:
-Robbery 1st Degree
-Possession of Deadly Weapon During Commission of Felony
-Burglary 3rd Degree
-Criminal Mischief

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is seeking Donald Caldwell (30) for breaking into Cindy’s Daycare.  The business, located at 827 Forest Street, was broken into by Caldwell between 6:30PM and 8:00PM on Tuesday evening when employees had left.  Video surveillance shows Caldwell entering the business, breaking into an office, and causing damage/ransacking it once inside.  Caldwell is currently wanted by the Dover Police Department for Burglary 3rd Degree and Criminal Mischief.

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating the early morning robbery of a taxi cab driver.  At approximately 2:20AM, a 63-year-old male, driving for City Cab, was robbed at gunpoint while sitting inside his vehicle.  The driver was stopped in the area of Mary Street and Bradford Street, when a male suspect approached the driver holding a handgun towards his head and demanded money. The victim complied and the suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.  The suspect is described by the victim as being a light-skinned (possibly mixed-race) male, with braided hair, 5’8″ and approximately 180 pounds.
