Dover Police Share Code Purple Information for Upcoming Cold Weather 12-6-16

We will be in a Code Purple Alert in Kent County during the nights of December 8- December 10th.  We will close at 7am on the morning of December 11th.

The following sanctuaries will be open for MEN:

Presbyterian Church – Dover – enter on Reed Street – 5pm

Centennial Church – Smyrna 5pm

The following sanctuaries will be open for WOMEN AND CHILDREN

Smyrna Wesleyan Church – Smyrna – 5pm

Milford Community Center- Milford – 5pm

Wesley Church-Dover-enter on North Street THURSDAY  5:30pm

Christ Church- Dover- enter on State Street- FRIDAY 5pm

At this time we do not have a shelter available for women and children in the City of Dover for Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday nights.

Investigation Leads to Drug and Gun Charges for Dover Man 12-6-16

The Dover Police Department ended a drug investigation at the Super Lodge, located at 246 N. DuPont Highway, with an arrest on Monday afternoon.  20-year-old DeJon Henderson was being investigated, when he left the hotel room at the Super Lodge and was stopped by investigating officers.  Henderson was found to be in possession of marijuana and was arrested without incident.  Following a search warrant of the hotel room, officers located additional marijuana, packaging material, and a .40 caliber handgun.  Henderson was released on $50,000 unsecured bond on the following charges:
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana
-Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony
-Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited
-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
