Narrative:

The Dover Police Department arrested a 22-year-old woman after stabbing/cutting a 26-year-old female during a fight.  Nykia Jones was arrested after turning herself in at the Dover Police Department shortly after the incident occurred at 11:11AM in the 300 Block of N. Governors Avenue.  Jones and a 26-year-old female has become involved in a physical altercation, when Jones used a knife to cause several injuries to the 26-year-old woman.  The victim had to undergo emergency surgery for her injuries but is in stable condition at this time.  Jones was released on $40,250 unsecured bond on the following charges:
-Assault 1st Degree
-Possession of Deadly Weapon During Commission of Felony
-Disorderly Conduct

Teen Shot on S. Farmview Drive 12-13-16

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting in the 1400 Block of S. Farmview Drive that occurred early Monday night.  At approximately 7:23PM, officers responded to the area for a shots fired call.  While on scene, police were notified that a 17-year-old victim had arrived at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital with a gunshot wound to the face.  The 17-year-old was struck by bird shot, a shotgun shell containing numerous pellets, and his injuries are not life threatening.  Additionally, a home in the 1400 Block of S. Farmview Drive was struck by the gunfire as well.  No further injuries occurred as a result.  The motive behind the shooting is still under investigation.
