Traffic Stop Leads to Firearms/Drug Charges 4-10-17

Narrative:

A traffic stop led to gun and drug charges for two men on Friday night.  Officers from the Street Crimes Unit, working with Delaware Probation and Parole, stopped Theaddis Johnson (Milford, 20) for a traffic violation in the area of DuPont Highway and Division Street in Dover.  During the stop, officers observed drug paraphernalia in plain view.  When the driver and passengers exited, officers saw a handgun under the front passenger seat and located marijuana in the vehicle while searching the rest of the vehicle.  A third passenger (17) was charged with possession of marijuana as well.

Dover Police Training Alert 4-10-17

On Wednesday, April 12th, City of Dover Customer Service located at 5 E. Reed Street will be closing at 1:30PM due to a training exercise with the Dover Police Department. The entire building will be closed to the public.  There will be a heavy presence of emergency vehicles and personnel from the Dover Police Department and other agencies participating.  Please use caution when traveling in the area of 5. East Reed Street during this time and do not be alarmed by activity in the training area.

Residential Burglary on Long Point Road 4-10-17

Date/Time:  Saturday, April 8th, 2017 between 1:00PM and 8:00PM

Location: 600 Block of Long Point Road, Dover, DE

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating a residential burglary that occurred on Saturday, April 8th, 2017.  The incident occurred between 1:00PM and 8:00PM when an unknown suspect entered a vacant residence in the 600 Block of Long Point Road by forcing open a side door to the residence.  Once inside, the suspect stole jewelry, medication, and cash before fleeing the residence.
