Narrative:

The Dover Police Department has issued a Gold Alert for a 35-year-old woman.  Iesha Colson Legg, was reported missing after she fled a medical practice in a silver 2013 Dodge Charger with MD REG: 9CG4754.  Legg’s medical condition is a concern and may affect her health and safety.  If you have any information on Legg’s whereabouts, please contact Dover Police at 302-736-7111.

Fatal Pedestrian Accident 7-29-17

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department Collision Reconstruction Team is investigating a fatal motor vehicle accident where a pedestrian was struck and killed on Friday night.  At approximately 8:38PM, a 59-year-old male, crossed the northbound and southbound lanes of N. DuPont Highway from the East side of the road way from the area of Raceway Liquors (899 N. DuPont Highway).  When the man attempted to cross the southbound lanes, he ran directly in front of a 2008 Toyota Sienna minivan in the center lane.  The man was struck by the vehicle, causing fatal injuries.  Officers cleared the scene at approximately 11:30PM.  The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Virginia Man Arrested on Drug Charges Following Incident at Dover Downs Hotel 7-27-17

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department arrested a 34-year-old man from Norfolk, Virginia following a trespassing complaint at Dover Downs Hotel and Casino.  Officers were called to the lobby of the hotel at 1:17AM in reference to Courtney Hill being passed out on a couch in the lobby.  Hill was arrested for striking a Dover Downs security officer and disorderly conduct.  During a subsequent search, he was in possession of a glass vial containing 47 grams of PCP.

Hill was committed to JTVCC in default of $57,000 cash bond on the following offenses:
-Possession of PCP (Tier 5 Qty)
-Possession with Intent to Deliver PCP
-Drug Paraphernalia
-Disorderly Conduct
-Offensive Touching

Pizza Delivery Driver Robbed in Capital Green, Suspect Arrested 7-27-17

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department has arrested Jamal Jones (18), following the robbery of a pizza delivery employee on Wednesday afternoon.  Officers were called by the victim at 1:53PM, who advised that Jones  robbed him of an undisclosed amount of cash.  The victim told officers that Jones ran into a home in the 400 Block of East Water Street.  Officers quickly surrounded the residence and were able to successfully take Jones into custody inside of the home.  Jones was committed to JTVCC in default of $50,500 cash bond on the following charges:
-1st Degree Robbery
-Resisting Arrest

Home Struck by Gunfire 7-26-17

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Tuesday evening.  At approximately 7:25PM, officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Davis Circle and Lincoln Street.  Witnesses provided mixed reports of occupants from two separate vehicles shooting at each other on Lincoln Street, as they traveled in opposite directions.  During the incident, a home in the 100 Block of Davis Circle was struck by a single round.  The home was occupied, but none of the occupants were injured.

Dover Police Department Announce Senior Staff Promotions and Assignments 7-25-17

Effective as of  July 24th, 2017, Chief Marvin Mailey has announced the following promotions and assignments of staff officers for the Dover Police Department:

Tim Stump has been promoted from the rank of Captain to the rank of Major and will serve as the Deputy Chief of the Dover Police Department
Captain David Spicer will remain the Operation’s Division Commander for the Dover Police Department.
Chad Bernat has been promoted to the rank of Captain and will serve as the Administrative Unit Commander, leaving his current position as the Criminal Investigations Unit Commander.
Lieutenant Todd Case has been assigned as the Criminal Investigations Unit Commander, leaving his current assignment as the Patrol Unit Commander.
David Boney has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and will serve as the Patrol Unit Commander.
Lieutenant Christopher Hermance will continue to serve as the Special Enforcement Unit Commander.
Lieutenant Kevin Kober will continue to serve in his current capacity as the Internal Affairs Commander.

Fatal Vehicle Collision on McKee Road 7-23-17

Narrative:

A 23-year-old Dover man has been charged with Vehicular Homicide (1st degree) following the death of 62-year-old Derik Pecorini of Dover.  Pecorini was operating  a 2002 Honda Accord northbound on McKee Road between the intersections of Scarborough Road and West Denney’s Road.  Marcus Thomas was operating a 2006 Nissan Altima southbound in the northbound lane in the same area.  Thomas’ vehicle collided head-on with the Honda Accord being driven by Derik Pecorini near Seskinore Court.  Pecorini died as a result of the injuries sustained in the collision.  Thomas had minor injuries and was found to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision.  Thomas was charged with 1st Degree Vehicular Homicide and additional traffic offenses.  Photo and bond information was not available at the time of release.

UPDATE:
Thomas was committed to JTVCC in default of $5,000 secured bond.
