Dover Police Announce Closing Date for 2018 Police Testing Process 1-19-18

The Dover Police Department Planning and Training Unit has announced that the closing date for Police Applicants will be on Friday, March 23rd, 2018 at 3:00PM.  Any applications received after this time will be filed away for the 2019 hiring process.  Applicant testing will be announced at a later time, but typically take place in early-mid April.   Applicants who submit their applications prior to the deadline will receive testing information via U.S. Mail.  To learn more about Dover Police Careers, please visit www.doverpolice.org/careers

Armed Robbery in Parking Lot of Country Village Apartments 1-19-2018

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating an armed robbery of a pizza delivery driver on Thursday night.  At approximately 11:29PM, officers responded to the parking lot of Country Village Apartments and contacted the 27-year-old male victim.  The victim advised that he was approached by a male suspect in the parking lot who demanded money from him when he displayed a handgun.  The victim complied and the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.  The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 5’4″, 160 pounds, and wearing a black beanie, green hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans, and light-colored sneakers.  The suspect was also described as being young, approximately 15 years of age, according the victim.

1,043 Bags of Heroin Seized, Two Charged Following Search 1-19-2017

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department and Delaware State Police assisted Delaware Probation and Parole officers with an administrative search warrant on Thursday evening.  At approximately 6:34PM, officers conducted the search at a room at the Sleep Inn, located at 1784 N. DuPont Highway.  The room belonged to Michael Grabowski (37).  Ashley Deel (26) was in the room at the time of the search.  As a result of the search, a total of 1,043 bags of heroin, 3 doses of Suboxone, and drug paraphernalia was seized.  

Michael Grabowski was committed to JTVCC in default of $53,000 bond on the following charges by the Dover Police Department:
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin
-Possession of Heroin (tier 5)
-Drug Paraphernalia
-Possession of Controlled Substance
-Conspiracy 2nd Degree
Grabowski was also charged with additional offenses by the Delaware State Police.

Ashley Deel was committed to Baylor Correctional Center in default of $41,200 bond on the following charges:
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin
-Possession of Heroin (tier 5)
-Drug Paraphernalia
-Conspiracy 2nd Degree
