The Dover Police Department will accept applications for the 2018 hiring process for police officers on March 23rd, 2018 at 3:00PM. Any applications received after this time/date will remain on file for the 2019 hiring process. Applicants who submit their applications on time will receive a letter in the mail disclosing the time and location for the physical and written exams to be held on April 7th and 8th, 2018. Narrative:
The Dover Police Department Street Crimes Unit, working with Delaware Probation and Parole, arrested 35-year-old Alfred Terry on drug and weapons charges following a traffic stop on Thursday night. At approximately 7:59PM, officers stopped Terry in the are of Buckson Drive and Bacon Avenue. During the traffic stop, officers could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, officers located 89.7 grams of marijuana and a loaded 9mm handgun. The hand gun was later discovered to be reported stolen.
Terry was released after posting $33,600 secured bail on the following charges:
-Possession of Firearm/Ammo by Person Prohibited (2x)
-Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony
-Carry Concealed Deadly Weapon
-Possession of Stolen Firearm
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana
-Drug Paraphernalia

Narrative:
The Dover Police Department is investigating a residential burglary that occurred in the 100 Block of Roosevelt Avenue. Sometime between Thursday, March 1st, 2018 and Thursday, March 15th, 2018 an unknown suspect(s) entered the residence after breaking a rear window. The suspect took an unknown amount of cash and jewelry from the residence before fleeing. No known suspect information is available at this time.
