Dover Police P.A.L. and Crossfit Dover Partner for Summer Student Fitness League

The Dover Police Department is proud to partner with Crossfit Dover to present the 2018 Summer Student Fitness League (SFL).  The SFL is a program designed by George Dobbins, owner of Crossfit Dover, to provide students of all ages an opportunity to challenge themselves physically, build self-esteem, and learn to live a healthy and active lifestyle.  By exercising and competing as a team, the athletes will learn important social skills and to work together in a  fun environment to accomplish the challenging tasks the program offers.

“Partnering with Dover Police Athletic League and their PAL program will not only encourage fitness but will also teach responsibility and leadership while serving on a team. This program will not only build strong bodies, but it will also build individual character and self-confidence as all the above are essential for students at this age.” said George Dobbins, owner of Crossfit Dover.

Chief Mailey also stated “The Dover Police Department is excited about the opportunity to partner with a local business to provide children in our community the chance to take part in a challenging summer program that will benefit their physical and mental health.  By learning the capabilities of their bodies and gaining confidence in their abilities, it will hopefully cause the participants to take part in other athletic activities or continue to build upon the foundation of physical fitness that the SFL will provide for them.”

Registration deadline is June 15th, 2018

The 2018 summer SFL session is scheduled to begin on July 17th, 2018 and ends on August 25th, 2018.  Additional information and online registration forms can be found at the following link: doverpolice.org/SFL
