Narrative:
The Dover Police Department is investigating a series of tire slashing incidents that have occurred since at least January 19th, 2019. The department has responded to nearly 20 incidents where vehicles have had their tires slashed. The large majority of these cases have occurred in the commercial/business district along the 13/113 corridor in Dover. In most cases, the victim’s vehicles had two tires slashed on the driver or passenger side. Investigating officers were able to obtain surveillance footage of a possible suspect vehicle. In the video, the suspect vehicle is seen pulling into a WAWA convenience store on the passenger side of a red sedan. While the video is not clear, the suspect exits the dark-colored vehicle and cuts both passenger side tires before fleeing. The vehicle is believed to be a dark blue colored, 4-door sedan, with a silver rim/hubcap on the rear passenger side and a dark-colored wheel/rim on the front passenger side. Investigators are hoping this distinct detail will lead to tips from the public about the location of the vehicle and possible suspect information.
