Narrative:

The Dover Police Department has issued a Gold Alert for a Dover man.  Charlie McClain (age: 63) was last seen at his residence on Blue Coat Street at approximately 2:00PM on Friday, April 19th, 2019 and was last heard from via phone at approximately 8:00PM on the same date.  McClain operates a bronze Cadillac SRX Sport Utility Vehicle with an unknown PA registration.  He is approximately 5’6″, 220 pounds, with black hair, gray beard, and wears glasses.  McClain also suffers from medical conditions that may affect his health and safety if not properly monitored and treated.  If you have any information on McClain’s whereabouts, please contact the Dover Police Department at 302-736-7111

Pizza Robbery Suspect Tracked by K9 and Arrested 4-20-2019

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department arrested Radames Guzman (23), of Magnolia, on armed robbery charges after robbing My Roma Pizza on Friday afternoon.  At approximately 3:24PM, Guzman entered the business and displayed what appeared to be a black handgun and demanded money,.  Guzman fled on foot after the robbery and the Dover Police Patrol Unit established a perimeter to locate the suspect.  K9 Gerome began a track of the suspects path of travel and located some of Guzman’s clothing in a wooded area as well as a black BB gun.  K9 Gerome continued his track and flushed out Guzman from a wooded area and then was apprehended without incident by patrol officers who formed a secure perimeter.

Guzman was charged with Robbery 1st Degree and Wearing a Disguise During Commission of a Felony.  Bond info and mugshot were not available at the time of release.

Three Injured During Fight After Patrons Leave Allure Night Club 4-17-2019

Location:  Allure Night Club, 865 N. Dupont Highway, Dover, DE (and surrounding parking lots)

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is investigating a fight that led to three people being treated for wounds sustained from a knife or blade.  Officers responded to Allure Night Club in reference to a large fight after the club let patrons out.  Arriving officers stated they observed approximately 100 people in the area, with many acting disorderly.  After clearing the crowd, officers were called to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital for three victims who were stabbed or cut during the initial fight.

Three male victims (ages 23, 23, and 22) were all being treated for non-life threatening cuts caused by an unknown weapon/instrument.  All victims were expected to be treated and released for their wounds.  

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Dover Police Department at (302)736-7130. Callers may remain anonymous.  Tips may also be submitted to law enforcement through Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333 or online at delawarecrimestoppers.com; a cash reward of up to $1,000 is possible for information leading to an arrest.

The Dover Police Department has issued a Gold Alert for a missing 16-year-old.  Victoria Renda was reported missing on Monday, April 15th.  Renda left Dover High School on her own after 1st period.  She was last seen wearing a white hooded sweatshirt that says “Ocean City” on the front, black pants with a white stripe down the sides, and black and white shoes..  Renda has a condition that may present health or safety concerns if not properly treated/maintained.    If you have any information on Johnson’s whereabouts, please contact the Dover Police Department at 302-736-7111.

Applications Being Accepted for City of Dover Police Cadets 4-15-2019

The City of Dover is currently recruiting for part-time Police Cadets with an application deadline of May 6, 2019.  The essential functions of these positions will be to provide law enforcement assistance to the Police Department.

The primary duties will include Patrol of assigned areas in the Downtown Dover and the Dover Public Library area to enforce City of Dover Ordinances and to assist other police personnel as directed; assist in the administrative and operational goals of the department.  OFFICIAL DOVER POLICE CADET PROGRAM

This position requires excellent communications skills as well as a valid driver’s license along with a high school diploma, attendance in college is preferred.  An in-depth background investigation and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening will be conducted. A physical fitness test is required.
