Dover Police Investigating Late Report of Shots Fired at Residence on Slaughter Street 5-31-2019

Narrative: 

Dover Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred late Wednesday evening that left a house damaged.  The incident occurred Wednesday night, but was not reported to police until Thursday afternoon.  The residents advised police that their residence was struck by gunfire 5-6 times.  The residents stayed in a bedroom and did not notify police.  There were no reports of shots fired or other significant activity in the area of Slaughter Street during the time this incident occurred.  No injuries occurred as a result of this incident.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Dover Police Department at (302)736-7130. Marydel Man Charged After “One Pot Meth Labs” Found in Vehicle 5-31-2019

Narrative: The Dover Police arrested 59-year-old Eugene Thompson, Jr. on drug charges following an early morning incident in a Walgreen’s Parking Lot on Thursday.  At approximately 8:26AM, a 3rd party called to report a possible overdose/medical issue involving a male subject in a blue sedan.  Officers arrived and located Thompson inside the vehicle, who was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.  While assisting Thompson, officers located a “one pot meth lab” inside of the vehicle.  A short time later, a second one was found in the trunk.  Officers also located 3 vials containing a total of .6 grams of methamphetamine inside of the vehicle. 

Emergency response and Hazardous Material teams from several agencies responded to the location and safely disposed of the “one pot” labs, causing the parking lot to the business to be closed for approximately 2-3 hours.

Once Thompson was released from the hospital, he was charged with the following offenses and released on an O.R. bond:
-Operating a Clandestine Laboratory
-Possession of Methampetamine
-Drug Paraphernalia
