Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a 22-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his arm.  The victim reported being shot in the arm during an altercation with an unknown male suspect.  The victim was treated at a nearby hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Dover Police Department at (302)736-7130. Victim Assaulted After Finding Intruder Inside of Residence 6-17-2019

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is investigating a residential burglary that occurred early Monday morning.  At approximately 12:29AM, a male resident returned to his home.  A short time later, he discovered an unknown black male suspect in the stairwell of his home.  The suspect punched and kicked the victim before fleeing on foot.  The victim sustained minor injuries but refused medical treatment.  The suspect was described as being a black male, over 20 years of age, average build, wearing a t-shirt and shorts.

Residential Burglary on Leipsic Road 6-17-2019

Date/Time:  Friday, June 14th, 2019 between 6:30AM-6:00PM

Location: 800 Block of Leipsic Road, Dover, DE

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is investigating a residential burglary that occurred on Friday, June 14th, in the 800 Block of Leipsic Road.  Between 6:30AM-6:00PM, an unknown suspect entered the vacant residence by forcing open a side door.  While inside, the suspect stole tools and other miscellaneous items before fleeing the area.

Dover Police Announce 2019 “A Day In Their Boots” Date and Registration

Learn what it takes to be a First Responder in Delaware and the challenges they face by joining the Dover Police Athletic League on Wednesday, July 10th, from 9am-2pm at the Delaware State Fire School.  No cost to attend, but children ages 5-10 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.  Lunch will be provided to all participants by event sponsor North Dover Chick-Fil-A.  A minimum of 30 participants is required for this program to take place.  Registration form can be found below.  Parents/Guardians will have to sign a liability waiver after registration.  In 2018, the event registered the maximum number of 200 participants within 4 hours, so register early!  Deadline for registration will be July 5th, 2019.

This event is made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Dover Police Department, Dover Police Athletic League, Delaware State Fire School, Dover Fire Department, and North Dover Chick-Fil-A.

There will also be a raffle for various items at the event with tickets available for purchase.

NOTICE:  This event does include loud noises, bright lights, a K9 bite apprehension demonstration, and hands-on experiences that require a light level of physical activity

-NO Open toe shoes-feet must be fully covered (sneakers/boots)
