Armed Robbery in The Overlook Neighborhood 10-15-2019

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is investigating an alleged robbery that occurred on Sunday afternoon.  At approximately 3:03PM, a 62-year-old male victim reported that he had just purchased a money order at the 7-11 located at North DuPont Highway and Lepore Drive.  The victim stated that a black male was in line behind him at the time.  

When the victim was in the parking lot, the unknown black male asked for a cigarette according to the victim.  The victim gave the man a cigarette and continued to walk home into The Overlook neighborhood.  According to the victim, the male subject from 7-11 grabbed him from behind and threatened him with a knife, taking the money order from his pocket before fleeing back towards the 7-11 parking lot.  The male subject reportedly entered a white Audi 4-door vehicle and fled.  

The suspect was described by the victim as being a black male, mid-late 40’s, 6’2″, 240 pounds, with facial hair.  

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Dover Police Department at (302)736-7130. Dover Man Arrested After Threatening Persons with Knives in a Royal Farms 10-15-2019

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department arrested Steve Lawrence (41) on several charges following an incident at Royal Farms on Friday, October 11th, 2019.  At approximately 6:58PM, Lawrence entered the Royal farms with two folding knives and began chasing employees and patrons inside the business.  Lawrence fled on foot from responding officers and was taken into custody following a brief foot pursuit.  Lawrence is believed to have been under the influence of synthetic marijuana at the time of the incident. 

No persons were injured as a result of the incident.

Lawrence was committed to SCI on a $44,360 secured bond on the following charges:
-Possession of Deadly Weapon by Person Prohibited (2x)
-Possession of Deadly Weapon During Commission of Felony (2x)
-Aggravated Menacing (2x)
-Resisting Arrest
-Disorderly Conduct
-Public Intoxication
