Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred at a Talbot’s store.  Between 6:00PM on Friday, November 1st and 9:00AM on Saturday, November 2nd, an unknown suspect entered the business by breaking a window.  Once inside, two registers were damaged.  It is unknown at this time if anything was removed from the business.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Dover Police Department at (302)736-7130. Shots Fired on Old Forge Drive on Sunday Morning 11-4-2019

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in the 100 Block of Old Forge Drive on Sunday morning.  At approximately 1:08AM, a 21-year-old female observed several black male subjects walking around her vehicle in front of her residence.  They walked away from her vehicle and were standing near a black hatchback vehicle parked on Old Forge Drive.  The female drove in her vehicle toward the subjects when one male pulled a handgun and fired several rounds, striking her vehicle in the rear passenger side door.  The female stated that she open carries a handgun and returned fire before fleeing in her vehicle.  No injuries were reported and no shots appeared to strike anything else in the area.  One of the male subjects were described as being a black male wearing a blue jacket.  The group of subjects fled in the black hatchback vehicle.

Intoxicated Driver Arrested for DUI/Resisting Arrest During McDonald’s Drive-Thru Dispute 11-4-2019

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department responded to McDonald’s on Forrest Avenue for a disorderly customer in the drive-thru on Saturday, November 3rd at 3:01AM.  The store notified police that Dana Courtenay (35) was cursing at employees about a food order and appeared intoxicated.  When officers arrived, they observed Courtenay in the drive-thru line.  She then quickly left the parking lot and officers attempted to stop her by activating their emergency equipment on their vehicles.  Courtenay failed to stop, driving into a neighboring shopping center, and then back into the McDonald’s drive-thru.  Officers then contacted Courtenay, who exited her vehicle and began screaming and cursing at the officers.  When the officers attempted to take Courtenay into custody, she began fighting with them and spit on two officers.  Courtnenay refused all sobriety tests but had clear signs of alcohol intoxication.  Officers obtained a search warrant for a blood drawl at Kent General Hospital to determine her BAC.  

Courtenay was released on a $9,700 unsecured bond on the following offenses:
-DUI
-Reckless Driving
-Resisting Arrest with Force
-Disorderly Conduct
-Disregard Police Officer Signal
-Offensive Touching of Law Enforcement (2x)
-Assault 2nd Degree Law Enforcement
-Intentionally Threaten the Life/Serious Injury o Public Official/Servant

Two Arrested for Selling Drugs on S. New Street 11-4-2019

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department arrested two subjects on drug charges on Friday afternoon.  Officers were conducting surveillance in the 100 Block of S. New Street in reference to drug activity and observed Qasim Williams (25) and Heven Jones (19) engage in drug transactions in the area.  Both were contacted and taken into custody without incident and were found to be in possession of 36.9 grams of crack cocaine, .056 grams of heroin, 6.4 grams of marijuana, and digital scales.  

Qasim Williams was committed to SCI on an $11,000 cash bond on the following charges:
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Crack Cocaine
-Conspiracy 2nd Degree

Heven Jones was committed to Baylor Women’s Correctional on a $12,000 cash bond on the following charges:
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Crack Cocaine
-Conspiracy 2nd Degree
-Possession of Heroin
-Drug Paraphernalia
-Possession of Marijuana (Civil Violation)
