DUI Suspect Flees From Police, Arrested with 58 Grams of PCP 3-10-2020

Narrative: 

Officers from the Dover Police Department attempted to stop a vehicle on Monday night in the area of Loockerman Street and Governors Avenue for a moving violation.  When they contacted the driver, Jaray Harris (40), officers could detect a strong odor of alcohol and suspected that Harris was intoxicated.  When officers attempted to have Harris exit the vehicle for sobriety tests, Harris refused and fled in his vehicle.  Harris’ vehicle struck a curb in the area of Loockerman Street and Jerusalem Way, causing minor damage to his vehicle.  Harris continued to travel to Lincoln Street and into a dead-end.  Harris then fled on foot but was apprehended by officers a short time later.  Harris was also in possession of 58.1 grams of PCP.  

No damage or injuries occurred as a result of this incident other than the damage to the suspects vehicle.

Harris was committed to SCI on a $41,800 secured bond on the following charges:
-Possession with Intent to Deliver PCP
-Possession of PCP
-Drug Paraphernalia
-Resisting Arrest
-Driving While Intoxicated
-Failure to Stop on Police Command
-Multiple traffic violations
