A&H Uniforms Burglary 7-31-2020

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred at A&H Uniforms on Thursday night.  At approximately 10:58 p.m., officers responded to the business for an alarm.  When they arrived on scene, the officers observed that the front window was broken.  A review of surveillance footage showed a white male suspect using a brick to break the window and enter the business.  Once inside, the suspect took a cash register and fled.  There was no cash in the register.  

The suspect is a white male who was wearing a dark shirt with white writing on it and a camouflage bucket hat.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Dover Police Department at (302)736-7130. Dover Police Accepting Applications for Fall 2020 Hiring Process 7-29-2020

Three Arrested for Firearms and Drug Offenses 7-27-2020

Location:  South Bay Road and South Little Creek Road, Dover, DE

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department arrested three men on firearms and drug charges on Friday afternoon in the area of South Bay Road and South Little Creek Road.  Jawon Watson (23) was the subject of an active firearms investigation by the Dover Police Department and had active warrants for firearms charges as a result of that investigation.  On July 24th, officers observed Watson inside of a vehicle and conducted a vehicle stop.  When the officers made contact with the three occupants inside of the vehicle, Watson was observed reaching for a loaded handgun at his feet.  Watson and the other occupants were taken into custody without incident.  Officers located another loaded handgun on Carlos Green (22, rear-seat passenger) as well as crack cocaine.  A third loaded handgun was also located inside of the vehicle, as well as marijuana, crack cocaine, a digital scale, and fentanyl.  

Jawon Watson was committed to HRYCI on a $64,500 cash bond on the following charges:
-Possession of Firearm/Ammo by Person Prohibited (4x)
-Carry Concealed Deadly Weapon (2x)
-Possession of Marijuana
-Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony
-Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited (Drug Possession) (2x)
-Illegal Gang Participation
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Crack Cocaine

Joshua Johnson was released on a $6,000 unsecured bond on the following charges:

Arrest Made in July 6th New Street Murder 7-27-2020

The Dover Police Department is announcing the arrest of Tysheen Maxwell (25) in connection with the July 6th murder of Thomas Gilbert.  Maxwell was developed as a suspect during the investigation and was apprehended on July 24th, 2020 in Newport News, Virginia by the United States Marshals Service without incident.  Maxwell remains in custody pending extradition back to Delaware on the following charges:
-Murder 1st Degree
-Possession of a Firearm During Commission of a Felony

Original Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is investigating the shooting death of a 32-year-old man that occurred on Monday morning.  At approximately 2:48AM, officers responded to a vacant lot in the 100 Block of S. New Street for a report of shots fired.  Arriving officers located Thomas Gilbert, who was struck multiple times by gunfire.  Gilbert was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of his injuries.  Gilbert is from the Dover area.

Armed Robbery Outside West Water Street Residence 7-25-2020

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred behind a residence in the 300 Block of West Water Street on Friday afternoon.  A 56-year-old male victim was standing next to his vehicle when he was approached by a male suspect with a handgun who demanded his belongings.  The victim complied and the suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash and personal belongings.  

The suspect was described as a light-skinned black male, wearing black and white shorts, black t-shirt, black and white mask, black and white backwards baseball cap, and black sneakers.

Dover Man Charged with Firearms and Drug Offenses Following Probation Check 7-23-2020

Location:  Kent Budget Motel, 363 North DuPont Highway, Dover, DE

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department charged Tyrell Joseph (32) with firearms and drug offenses after assisting Delaware Probation and Parole officers with a probation check.  Delaware Probation and Parole officers conducted the check at Joseph’s hotel room at 363 North DuPont Highway.  During the search of the room, officers located a .45 caliber  handgun, 17.1 grams of MDMA (ecstasy), 71.5 Xanax pills, 35 Oxycodone pills, 34 bags of heroin, 1022.4 grams of cereal bars containing marijuana, and $3,411.  There was also a young child in the room who was turned over to a relative.
