Traffic Stop Leads to Fugitive Arrest and Gun/Drug Charges

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department arrested a Dover man on drug and gun charges during a traffic stop on Wednesday night.  Officers stopped Kevin Pearsall (21) in the area of College Road and McKee Road on at approximately 10:45 p.m. on September 1st after positively identifying the driver as Pearsall who was wanted on capias and active warrants at the time.  When officers attempted to stop Pearsall, he refused to stop for approximately half a mile.  When he was stopped, officers detained Pearsall and a female passenger without incident and could smell the odor of marijuana inside the vehicle.  A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a handgun, two magazines (one extended), and approximately 16.6 grams of marijuana.  

Pearsall was committed to SCI on a $26,000 cash bond on the following offenses:
-Carry Concealed Deadly Weapon
-Possession of Firearm/Ammo by Person Prohibited (3x)
-Possession of Marijuana
-Drug Paraphernalia
-Multiple Traffic Offenses

An 18-year-old female passenger was released after receiving a civil violation for Possession of Marijuana.
