Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating a stabbing that left an 18-year-old male in critical but stable condition on Tuesday morning.  At approximately 3:56 a.m., officers were called to the Emergency Room at Bayhealth Kent Campus after the victim arrived by private vehicle.  The victim had a large laceration from his neck to his chest.  The victim refused to provide any information about the incident to detectives, also stating that if police identified the suspect that he does not want them arrested.  Investigating officers spoke with an acquaintance of the victim who was in the vehicle that transported him to the hospital.  The acquaintance advised officers that he was riding in a vehicle and observed the victim on the side of the road on Mifflin Road, just north of Hazletville Road being assaulted by two unknown male suspects.  The acquaintance told officers that he broke up the fight and noticed the victim’s injury and that a second vehicle stopped to help.  The second vehicle was occupied by strangers to the victim and acquaintance but transported both to the hospital.  Investigating officers checked the scene where this incident allegedly occurred and could find no evidence of the incident occurring in that area.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Dover Police Department at (302)736-7111.  Callers may remain anonymous.  Tips may also be submitted to law enforcement through Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333 or online at delaware.crimestoppersweb.com; a cash reward is possible for information leading to an arrest.
