Dover Man Arrested After Throwing Firearm While Running from Police

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department arrested Charmize Seymore-West (18) on weapons offenses after fleeing from officers on Sunday afternoon.  Officers attempted to contact Seymore-West at approximately 12:01 p.m. regarding a loitering violationin the 100 Block of S. New Street.  Seymore-West fled from officers on foot but was apprehended a short time later.  As Seymore-West was running, he threw a loaded 9mm handgun and a baggie containing 21 grams of marijuana.  Seymore-West was committed to SCI on a $10,220 cash bond on the following offenses:
-Possession of Firearm/Ammo by Person Prohibited (3x)
-Carrying Concealed Deadly Weapon
-Illegal Gang Participation
-Resisting Arrest
-Possession of Marijuana
-Loitering

Delaware Auto Burglary

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred at Delaware Auto on West Division Street.  The incident occurred sometime between 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 5th, 2021 and 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 6th, 2021.  During this time period an unknown suspect forced entry into a garage through a boarded up window and removed a set of keys from the building.  The suspect then took a 2008 Ford Taurus with unknown New Jersey tags from the parking lot.

Suspect Sought in Attempted Rape in Library Parking Lot

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating an attempted rape that occurred early Monday morning on the property of the Dover Library located at 35 Loockerman Plaza.  A 45-year-old woman was in the area of the library when she was approached by an unknown black male suspect.  The suspect struck the victim multiple times and threw her to the ground and began to remove her clothing.  As the victim was screaming for help, two men in the area ran to the victim to assist and confronted the suspect.  The suspect then fled on foot.  The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries.
