Search Warrant on Pine Valley Road Leads to Firearms Charges

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department arrested Thomas Bailey (42) on gun and drug offenses.  Officers obtained a search warrant for Bailey’s home in the Unit Block of Pine Valley Drive as the result of a firearm investigation.  When officer’s attempted to execute the warrant, Bailey was observed hiding an object on a second floor balcony before retreating into the home.  Bailey eventually exited the home and was taken into custody without incident.  During a search of the residence, officers located a handgun on the second floor balcony of the home which was reported stolen out of Delaware State Police Troop 3 and 8.6 grams of marijuana.  Bond information was not available at the time of release.  

Baily was charged with the following offenses:
-Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony
-Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited (3x)
-Tampering with Physical Evidence
-Possession of Marijuana

Dover Woman Arrested for 3rd Offense DUI

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department arrested Karen Townsend (51) for a third offense DUI on Thursday afternoon.  Officers responded to the parking lot of Kent Liquor Mart located in the 100 Block of S. DuPont Highway for a report of a drunk driver.  Officers contacted Townsend in the driver seat of her vehicle and based on her actions and appearance, believed she was under the influence of alcohol.  Officers attempted to conduct field sobriety tests, but Townsend refused.  Officers then obtained a search warrant for a blood draw at Bayhealth Kent Campus.  Townsend was later released after posting a $2,101 cash bond on the following charges:
-DUI (3rd offense)
-Driving While Suspended/Revoked
-No Proof of Insurance

Shooting at American Legion on Bay Road

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting that injured a 19-year-old male at a party on Friday morning.  At approximately midnight, officers responded to the American Legion at 835 S. Bay Road for a report of shots fired.  Upon arrival, a large group of people dispersing the area.  While on scene, officers located numerous shell casings and learned that two unoccupied vehicles had been struck by gunfire.  

At approximately 1:00 a.m., the Dover Police Department was notified that a 19-year-old male arrived at the Christiana Hospital by private vehicle with a gunshot wound to his thigh.  The victim provided multiple inconsistent accounts of the incident while speaking with detectives.  At approximately 2:50 a.m., the Dover Police Department was notified by a third vehicle owner that their window was shot out while at the party.  The reporting person advised they were inside during the incident and observed the damage to their vehicle when they were leaving the party.
