Narrative:

The Dover Police Department has issued a Gold Alert for a 23-year-old Dover woman. Dashiane Johnson was last seen by family while leaving her residence in the 400 Block of Collins Drive at 3:31 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2022. Johnson made statements to family that are concerning for her safety prior to leaving. Johnson is a black female, 5’6″, 140 pounds, with long dark-colored braids. Johnson was last seen wearing a black button-up jacket, white t-shirt, and blue pajama pants. It is unknown where Johnson may be going.

23-Year-Old Shot in Arm on S. New Street

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred on Wednesday night.  At approximately 11:48 p.m., officers responded to the 100 Blocks of South New Street and South Queen Street for a report of shots fired.  While checking the area, a 23-year-old male victim arrived at Bayhealth Kent Campus with a gunshot wound to his right forearm.  The victim was uncooperative with detectives, providing multiple versions of the incident, but stating it occurred in the area of Reed Street, between South Bradford Street and South Governors Avenue.   Downtown surveillance video showed that no incident occurred in the area where the victim stated.  Surveillance showed that the victim was in the 100 Block of South New Street when an unknown black male runs into the area.  At that time, several people were seen fleeing on foot, which is believed to be when shots were fired and the male victim was struck.   If you wish to provide information on this case or other criminal activity, please contact the Dover Police Department at (302)736-7130.  Callers may remain anonymous.  Tips may also be submitted to law enforcement through Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333 or online at delaware.crimestoppersweb.com; a cash reward is possible for information leading to an arrest.

Dover Man Arrested on Firearms and Drug Offenses

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department arrested Melkin Ramos (23) on drug and firearms offenses on Wednesday afternoon.  Following a drug investigation, officers stopped Ramos in the parking lot of Country Farms Store on South Little Creek Road at approximately 2:15 p.m.  During the stop, Ramos was found to be in possession of a 9mm handgun and 14.9 grams of marijuana.  Ramos later admitted to possessing a 12 gauge shotgun at his residence on South Little Creek Road.  Officers were able to retrieve this weapon as well.  

Ramos was released on a $3,200 unsecured bond on the following charges:
-Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited
-Possession of Marijuana
-Drug Paraphernalia
