Dover Man Arrested for 4th Offense DUI

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department arrested Kevin Pearsall (40) for a 4th offense DUI on Wednesday night.  Officers stopped Pearsall at approximately 11:53 p.m. in the area of White Oak Road and Edgehill Avenue.  Prior to stopping, officers observed Pearsall fail to stay within his lane of travel multiple times, nearly striking a curb.  When officers attempted to stop Pearsall, he continued to travel through the intersection of Kings Highway and North DuPont Highway, failing to stop until reaching White Oak Road and Edgehill Avenue.

When officers contacted Pearsall, they detected signs of intoxication.  Pearsall refused to perform any field sobriety tests for officers, so a blood search warrant was obtained.  Pearsall was committed to SCI on a $4,500 secured bond on the following charges:
-4th Offense DUI
-Driving While Suspended/Revoked
-Traffic Offenses

Dover Man Arrested on Firearms Charges

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department arrested Matthew Anders (38) on firearm charges as the result of a firearms investigation.  Anders was stopped by police on a traffic stop in the rea of College Road and Kenton Road at approximately 11:03 p.m. on June 1st.  During the stop, officers located a loaded 9mm handgun underneath of the driver’s seat where Anders was seated.  Additional ammunition and spent shell casings were also located within the vehicle.

Anders was committed to SCI on a $12,500 cash bond on the following offenses:
-Possession of Untraceable Firearm
-Possession of Firearm/Ammo by Person Prohibited (2x)
-Carry Concealed Deadly Weapon

Arrest Made in September 2021 Shooting

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department has arrested Hassan Perry (19) for a September 2021 shooting that occurred on S. Kirkwood Street (Original Story).  Perry was developed as a suspect during the investigation and a warrant as obtained for his arrest on June 1st, 2022.  At approximately 4:54 p.m., officers from the Dover Police Department and U.S. Marshals First State Fugitive Task Force located Perry in the parking lot of the Buggy Bath Car Wash at 666 S. DuPont Highway and took Perry into custody without incident.  Perry was committed to SCI on a $120,000 cash bond on the following offenses: -Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony -Possession of Firearm/Ammo by Person Prohibited (2x) -Assault 2nd Degree -Reckless Endangering 1st Degree (2x) -Criminal Mischief
