Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating a report of a shots fired where two vehicles were struck on Monday night. At approximately 8:15 p.m., officers responded to the 400 Block of Collins Drive for a report of a subject with a firearm in the area. Officers responded but did not locate the subject that was described. While on scene, officers spoke with witnesses who advised that there was an altercation between several people in the area. During the altercation, an unknown male suspect fired multiple rounds, striking two unoccupied vehicles that were nearby.

No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.

Cheswold Man Arrested for 8th Offense DUI

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department arrested Christopher Harris (44) on a 8th Offense DUI on Sunday morning. Officers responded to the parking lot of the 7-11 located at 654 North DuPont Highway for a report of a subject slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle. When officers arrived, they contacted Harris in the driver seat while the vehicle was still running. Officers performed field sobriety tests on Harris and determined he was under the influence of alcohol and took him into custody without incident.

Harris was committed to SCI on a $20,000 cash bond on a single charge of DUI (8th Offense).

Dover Man Charged with DUI and Reckless Endangering After Crashing into Building

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department arrested Wayne Kersey (31) on DUI and related charges following an accident in the early morning hours of July 4th, 2022. Officers responded to a building at 1105 South DuPont Highway for a report that a red Dodge Ram truck collided with the building. When officers arrived on scene, the vehicle was not occupied. Two apartments inside the building were occupied, but none of the residents were injured as a result of the collision. Officers ran the registration of the suspect vehicle and determined the owner was Wayne Kersey. Officers checked the area and located Kersey just south of the location of the collision. When officers contacted Kersey, he had minor injuries and glass on him from the accident.

Kersey was arrested without incident and released on a $9,800 unsecured bond on the following offenses:
-DUI
-Reckless Endangering 1st Degree
-Criminal Mischief
-Reckless Driving
-Multiple Traffic Offenses
