Dover Police Arrest Magnolia Man Following Shooting that Left One Injured

Narrative: The Dover Police Department has arrested Aaron Grimes, 22, of Magnolia, DE, following a shooting on North West Street Monday afternoon, that left a 24-year-old man from Dover, DE injured. The investigation began at 3:31 p.m., when Dover Police received a call for shots fired in the 200 block of North West Street. Officers went to the area and located a large crowd. Officers were able to located the victim, who had sustained a gunshot wound to his thigh. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. 

Through their investigation, Detectives determined that Grimes was at the scene of the shooting and did shoot a handgun, hitting the victim in the thigh. No other injuries were reported. Grimes was taken into custody at the scene without incident. The firearm from this incident has not been recovered.

Grimes was taken to Dover Police where he was arraigned at JP#2.

Grimes was released on $22,500 unsecured bond on the following charges:
-Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
-Assault Second Degree

Wanted Man and Woman Arrested Following Weapons Complaint Friday Evening

Narrative: The Dover Police Department has arrested Darnell Griffin,36, and Tiffany Lassiter, 35, both of Dover, DE, on weapons and related charges following an incident at the Golden Fleece Tavern Friday evening. At 11:55 p.m. Friday, Dover Police were called to the Golden Fleece for the report of a man who pointed a gun at an employee of the business. Officers responded and contacted the victim who told Officers that he was trying to remove Griffin from the bar because he was being disorderly. The victim told officers that when he was confronted, Griffin pulled two handguns from his jacket, and pointed them at the victim. Lassiter took Griffin from the bar and both left in a Chevrolet Malibu with a Temporary Delaware registration.

Officers were able to find that the suspects went toward North DuPont Highway after this incident inside of the Chevrolet Malibu. An Officer on patrol located the vehicle in the parking lot of the Days Inn, 272 North DuPont Highway Dover, DE and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. Lassiter and Griffin were taken into custody without incident and officers located a loaded Springfield 9mm handgun in Griffin’s jacket pocket and a loaded SCCY 9mm handgun on the ground next to the front left tire, near the driver door, where Lassiter had previously been seated. When taken into custody Griffin provided a fake name, however officers were able to determine his true identity. Both suspects were transported to Dover Police for processing. A wanted check revealed Griffin was wanted in Pennsylvania on Weapons charges. It was also found that Lassiter had a capias for her arrest.

Griffin was committed to SCI on $131,000 cash bail on the following charges:
-Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony (4x)
-Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Prohibited Person (6x)
-Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon (4x)
-Aggravated Manacing (2x)
-Possession of a Firearm with an Obliterated Serial Number
-Forgery Second Degree
-Criminal Impersonation
-Disorderly Conduct
-Out of State Fugitive

Lassiter was released on $2,000 unsecured bond on the following charges:
-Providing Firearm to a Prohibited Person
-Hindering Prosecution
-Lewdness
-Capias
