Dover Police Make Arrest in Thanksgiving Day Homicide

UPDATE 12/7/2022 – The Dover Police Department has arrested Tyre Blue, 17, of Dover, DE for the homicide that occurred on Thanksgiving Day. Through the investigation, Blue was identified as a suspect involved in this incident and on 12/7/22 he was arrested without incident. He was transported to Dover Police where he was arraigned at JP7.

Blue was committed to Stevenson House on $150,000 cash bail on the following charges:
-Murder in the First Degree
-Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
-Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
-Possession of Ammunition by a Person Prohibited

Narrative: The Dover Police Department is investigating the shooting death of Walter Pereira, 29, of Dover, DE, that occurred early Thursday morning. The investigation began at approximately 3:42 a.m., when Dover Police received the call for a shooting at a residence in the unit block of Forest Creek Drive. Officers responded and located Pereira laying on the ground with gun shot wounds. Officers and Paramedics began life saving efforts until Pereira was transported to an area hospital, where he later died. Rayvaughn Jones, 29, of Dover, DE, was arrested leaving the residence where this shooting occurred. Through the ensuing investigation, it was determined that Jones lives at the residence with Pereira. The suspects are described as being two black males. No further description is available at this time. 

As part of the investigation, Detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence and located the following evidence; AK47 rifle, AR-15 rifle, 12 gauge shotgun, Smith and Wesson 9mm handgun, KBI Inc handgun, Springfield Armory 9mm handgun, Freedom Arms .22 Caliber handgun, 2,130.4 grams of marijuana, 914 doses of M/30 oxycodone pills, 27 grams of methamphetamine, 6.38 grams of cocaine, 30 doses of LSD, $7,186, and several pieces of drug paraphernalia. 

Jones was arrested without incident and charged with the following:
-Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited(13x)
-Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony(7x)
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Controlled Substance in a Tier 2 
-Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Tier 2 Quantity
-Possession with Intent to Deliver LSD in a Tier 2 Quantity
-Possession of LSD in a Tier 2 Quantity
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine in a Tier 3 Quantity
-Possession of Methamphetamine in a Tier 3 Quantity
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine in a Tier 1 Quantity
-Possession of Cocaine in a Tier 1 Quantity
-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
-Conspiracy Second Degree

Dover Police Arrest Three for Drug Dealing

Narrative: The Dover Police Department has arrested Salih Oliver, 21, of Smyrna, DE, Brian Sadler Jr, 23, of Dover, DE, and Adriana Sisombath, 18, of Dover, DE for drug dealing and weapons charges following a traffic stop Tuesday evening. The investigation began when the Dover Police Department received information that a gray Toyota Avalon with New Jersey registration was involved in a shooting in Smyrna on December 4th, and the vehicle was in the downtown dover area at this time. At approximately 11:24 p.m., Officers responded to the area and located the vehicle in the area of Home 2 Suites. Officers stopped the vehicle in the parking lot of the hotel and the driver, later identified as Oliver, fled from the vehicle and entered a room at the hotel. The passenger, Sadler, was taken into custody without incident. Officers were able to identify the room that Oliver entered, and made contact with Sisombath inside of the room and took her into custody without incident. Oliver was located hiding in a cabinet during a search of the room. Officers located 106 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia consistent with drug dealing, and a loaded black 9mm Glock 43 while checking the room. All three were transported to Dover Police where they were processed and arraigned.

Oliver was committed to SCI on $76,000 cash bail on the following charges:
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana
-Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
-Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
-Possession of Marijuana
-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
-Resisting Arrest
-Driving While Suspended or Revoked

Sisombath was committed to BWCI on $47,000 secured bail on the following charges:
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana
-Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
-Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
-Possession of Marijuana
-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Sadler was released on his own recognizance on the following charge:
-Maintaining a Dwelling for Selling Drugs

The shooting being investigated by Smyrna Police Department is still being investigated.

 

Burglary at US Gas

Narrative: The Dover Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred at US Gas, 505 Bay Road, Dover, DE early Wednesday morning. The investigation began when Dover Police was called to the business 5:20 a.m. for an alarm. Officers responded and located an open back door and found the front door had been broken with a rock. Through the investigation, it was revealed that a suspect forced entry into the business by shattering the front door and once inside removed an undisclosed amount of money and approximately $200 in merchandise. There is no surveillance available for this incident and there is no suspect description at this time.

Four Arrested Following Search Warrant On South Bradford Street

Narrative: The Dover Police Department has arrested Joshua Bryant, 31, Shelly Thompson, 37, both of Dover, Johnny Jones, 55, of Wilmington, DE and Kayla Williams, 25, of Harrington, DE following a search warrant on South Bradford Street. The investigation began when Dover Police received information about drug activity at a residence in the 1000 block of South Bradford Street. On December 6 at approximate 2:04 p.m., members of the Dover Police Department’s Drugs, Vice and Organized Crime Unit, Street Crimes Unit, and Delaware Probation and Parole arrested Bryant, who was currently wanted by Dover Police, without incident in front of the residence. Bryant was found in possession of drug paraphernalia when he was taken into custody. A search warrant was obtained and executed on the residence at which time Thompson, Williams, and Jones were arrested without incident. Jones was found in possession of 7.9 grams of cocaine. All of the above individuals were transported to Dover Police where they were arraigned.

Bryant was released on unsecured/own recognizance bail on the following charges:
-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
-Identity Theft
-Theft $1500 or Greater

Bryant was committed to SCI on outstanding capias’.

Thompson was committed to SCI on $10,000 secured bail on the following charges:
-Traffic Capias
-Violation of Probation

Williams was released on $100 unsecured bail on the following charge:
-Traffic Capias

Jones was released on $13,100 unsecured bail on the following charges:
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine
-Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Tier 1 Quantity
-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
-Possession of Marijuana (Civil Violation)
