Dover Police Make Arrest in Manchester Square Shooting

The Dover Police Department has arrested Alexander Singletary, 19, of Dover, following a shooting investigation that began January 12,2023. Through the investigation, Singletary was identified as a suspect and warrants were obtained for his arrest.

On Tuesday 01/24/2023 at 2:37 p.m., members of the First State Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force, with the assistance of Dover’s Drugs, Vice and Organized Crime Unit, and Dover Probation and Parole, Singletary was taken into custody without incident in Manchester Square.

Singletary was transported to Dover Police where he was processed and arraigned.

Singletary was committed to SCI on $10,000 secured bail on the following charges:
-Assault Second Degree
-Conspiracy Second Degree

Narrative: The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in Manchester Square that left a 20-year-old male from Dover injured Thursday evening. The investigation began at approximately 5:48 p.m., when Dover Police were called to the unit block of Stevenson Drive for the report of shots fired. Officers responded to check the area and did not locate a victim at this time. Shortly after, a 20-year-old male walked into an area hospital with a gun shot wound in his face. The victim was unable to communicate well with officers based off of his injury and he was transferred to a New Castle County hospital for further treatment.

There are no leads and no suspect information available at this time.
