Dover Pair Arrested For Shoplifting, and Vehicle Theft Charges

Narrative: The Dover Police Department has arrested Aliah Stone, 19, and Cam’ron Jackson, 18, both of Dover, following a shoplifting complaint which lead to the recovery of ammunition and a stolen vehicle, Thursday evening. The investigation began when Dover Police Department received a call for a shoplifting that had just occurred a LIDL in Dover. Officers responded and staff advised officers that the suspects, a Hispanic female and a black male, fled in a grey Jeep SUV with Pennsylvania registration. Officers familiar with Stone believed that she may be involved based on the description provided by staff at LIDL. Officers know Stone to frequent the unit block of Stevenson Drive so they went to check the area. Upon arrival, officers located the grey Jeep described above which was occupied by Stone and Jackson. Both were taken into custody without incident and officers located 9mm ammunition in the center console following a search.

The vehicle above had been reported stolen on February 11, 2023 and it was determined that Jackson was the suspect responsible for taking the vehicle.

Stone and Jackson were transported to Dover Police where they were processed and arraigned.

Stone was committed to BWCI on $9000 cash bail on the following charges:
-Possession of Ammunition by a Person Prohibited
-Receiving Stolen Property

Stone was also held on a $1,000 secured bail on the following charges:
-Shoplifting Under $1,500
-Conspiracy Third Degree

Jackson was committed to SCI on $8,000 cash bail on the following charges:
-Possession of Ammunition by Person Prohibited

Jackson was also held on a $2,000 secured bail on the following charge:
-Theft of a Motor Vehicle

Jackson was also charged with Shoplifting and Conspiracy and was issued an unsecured bail for those charges.

Arson at YMCA of Dover

Narrative: The Dover Police Department is investigating an arson that occurred at the YMCA Thursday evening. The investigation began at 4:48 p.m. when Dover Police was notified of a fire at the YMCA. Officers responded and spoke to Dover Fire Department personnel who advised that someone intentionally set a fire in the bathroom which caused damage to the building. City of Dover Fire Marshal’s Office and Dover Police’s Criminal Investigations Unit are investigating.

No suspect description is being released at this time as Detectives are still reviewing surveillance.

Stolen Vehicle Complaint Leads to Arrest of Wanted Man

Narrative: The Dover Police Department has arrested Cameron Vincent, 30, of Dover, following a stolen vehicle complaint early Thursday morning. The investigation began when Dover Police Department received a call that a vehicle stolen from Pennsylvania was currently located at 820 Carvel Drive Dover, DE. Officers responded to the area, located the vehicle, and confirmed it was stolen. While canvasing the area, officers located Vincent and a search revealed he was in possession of the keys for the stolen vehicle. He was taken into custody without incident and a computer check revealed he had a warrant from the State of California for a parole violation. Vincent was transported to Dover Police where he was processed and arraigned.

Vincent was committed to SCI without bail on the following charges and is awaiting extradition to California:
-Receiving Stolen Property
-Out of State Fugitive
